Daniel Lee

Kangmin Daniel Lee, M.D. grew up in the Paramus area and received his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire. He went on to receive his medical degree and neurosurgical training from the Medical College of Virginia. While in medical school, he was awarded the Joseph Collins Scholarship for his interest in the diagnosis and treatment of neurologic disorders. His research focus in residency was in the area of spinal cord and brain injury. For his work in spinal trauma, he received the Crutchfield, Gage and Thomson Award from the Neurosurgical Society of the Virginias.

After completing his neurosurgical residency, he went on to pursue fellowship training in neurosurgical oncology at the University of Cincinnati Brain Tumor Center where he received specialized training in the use of endoscopic techniques for the removal of brain tumors. He was also involved in the preparation of clinical trials utilizing his expertise in the use of radiosurgery for the treatment of brain tumors. After his fellowship, he was recruited to join the faculty of Hofstra-North Shore LIJ School of Medicine and the Brain Tumor Center, where he was involved in the education of neurosurgical residents.

Dr. Lee has authored and co-authored several articles in peer reviewed scientific journals and written a number of book chapters in his areas of interest. He has been invited to speak at both the regional and national level on his research areas. He has also served as a reviewer for the Journal of Neurotrauma, the Journal of Neurosurgery, and Thieme Medical Publishers.

Dr. Lee returned to New Jersey in 2012 to join North Jersey Brain and Spine Center. He practices the entire scope of adult neurosurgery to treat all disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves. In addition, he has a primary focus on the use of minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of brain and spinal disorders. His particular interest is in the safe and effective use of these techniques to treat traumatic and degenerative diseases of the spine, as well as tumors of the brain and spine. He also has expertise in radiosurgery.

Dr. Lee is board certified and a member of the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and the Society for Neuro-oncology.
